Our Mission
In January of 2010 a group of thirteen alpaca farms and ranches from Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes banded together for the purpose of establishing an Eastern Canadian Select Sale and Futurity.
It is our goal to emulate the very successful CNASF that has been held every April for over 10 years in Red Deer, Alberta. It is our intention to closely follow those existing rules and proven guidelines to duplicate that event each fall in eastern Canada.
We aspire to:
- host a highly successful select sale that will be advertised annually across Canada and internationally. Entries are open to all breeders of Canadian registered alpacas.
- provide a not-for-profit Futurity with high payouts financed by a quality stud service auction to showcase juvenile, yearling and intermediate (up to 36 months old) alpacas.
- attract new people to the Canadian alpaca industry.
The name “Eastern Canadian National Alpaca Select Sale & Futurity” was chosen to market our industry in concert with the Western Canadian National Alpaca Select Sale & Futurity.
Each of the 13 founding farms and ranches donated start up money for the new Futurity. All founding farms and ranches have pledged to commit their time to run a world-class alpaca event. Founding members’ names and contact information can be found on the “Members Page”.
Monies raised through CNASF East will be utilized to:
- promote and market the alpaca industry,
- - provide scholarships and fellowships to universities, community colleges and veterinary schools to assist with research and education pertaining to alpaca health issues, and
- - encourage and promote the use of alpaca fibre across Canada, North America and beyond.
We are very excited about this latest alpaca venture and are hopeful that breeders from coast to coast will rally around this effort that benefits all of us in the Canadian alpaca industry. We thank you in advance for doing so. We would also like to acknowledge and thank all the members of the Western CNASF for their direction and support.
